Roasted oak chips that give a refined aroma to your drink.
Dosage: 5-30g / 10l wine or beer.
Contact time: Ranges from a few days to three months.
Add the flavour of genuine oak barrel maturing to your wine or beer. For wine, a more intense flavour can be reached by adding the oak chips in a mesh bag together with the fruits and berries during fermentation. For a more mild flavour, add the oak chips in a mesh bag during clarification.
For beer, the oak chips can be added in a mesh bag during fermentation (but after the most intense fermentetion has subsided). Alternatively, oak chips can be boiled into a "tea" that is added to the brew after the fermentation has stopped. Sample the taste while adding small amounts at a time.
Tip: If you wish to sanitise the oak chips, seal them in a container and burn half a sulphur wick inside. Let sit for 15 minutes.
