Nelson Sauvin is possibly the most famous New Zealand hop. With its unique oil composition it has an aroma of it's own, reminicent of gooseberries and the grape Sauvignon Blanc from which it got part of its name. Even though Nelson Sauvin gives a soft and plesant bitterness it's mostly used as an aroma hop.

Commonly used in modern hoppy ales and lagers.

Nelson has slowly spread to becomming a favorite of many brewers across the globe.

Character: Fruity, gooseberry, passion fruit, white grapes, melon and grape.

Origin: New Zealand

Typical values: Alpha acids (correct alpha value is printed on the label): 10 - 13 %
Cohumulone: 22 - 26 %
Total oils: 1,1 ml / 100 g
Storage stability (alpha acids): Good, 55-65% alpha acids remaining after 6 months at 20 °C
